IP Manager Feature Issue (Resolved)
  • Priority - Medium
  • Affecting Other - SHARED WEB HOSTING

Recently, we have introduced a feature which allows our user to change their website's IP address from their client-area.
At this moment, this feature is causing a DNS entry issue which we are going to fix or we would remove the feature, since it was caused following a cPanel udpate.
We are in touch with cPanel to see what can be done.
We will update as soon as we have made the plugin evolved.

    UPDATE 12th of September 2016 :

We have to remove the feature for the time being. We will be working on adding it back as soon as we figure the full scope of the latest cPanel update.

Server Down (Resolved)
  • Priority - Critical
  • Affecting Other - Windows VPS Canada
  • We are currently facing a server outage at the Canadian Facility.
We are currently investigating which seem to be a hardware related issue.
Against all odds, we are facing another issue which didn't go unoticed.
The SLA agreement would be applied just as if, it would be the following of the previous downtime, which means the month credit will be added directly regardless of the duration of the downtime.

We will post an update as soon as we know more.

    UPDATE : 17h47m CET

We have swapped the RAID card on the server and it is currently back online.
However, we have a CPU issue on the server which seems to detect only 10% of the available ccres.
We are scheduling a BIOS update. We don't believe what we are experiencing right now on this server.

    UPDATE : 20h23m CET

We are currently upgrading the BIOS. It shall be completed within the next few minutes

    UPDATE : 20h38m CET

The update is now completed and we have retrieved the full CPU capacity and the server is now operating properly.
It is the 3rd event in less than 2 months which we have to face in such locations.
We have therefore a schedule which will question the future of this location or some drastic solutions which will prevent any critical solution from happening.
We have a hard time to believe that 3 different outages took place in such little tiime frame.

While we should be apologizing first for the severe inconveniences and we are; we would like to emphasize a big thank you we are addressing to all affected users for their extreme patience which made us feel lucky about working for you.

Virtual Network Canadian Location Down (Resolved)
  • Priority - Critical
  • Affecting Other - Windows VPS - Canadian Location
  • Hello,

We are informing you that we are currently investigating an issue at our Canadian location,
The issue seems to be coming from the virtual network which allows the VPS to be connected to the internet.

The VPS are currently up and running, and pinging in / out properly.

However, for all others protocol they are down,
We have immediately contacted the datacenter in charge of this part of the network.

They are currently working on the issue to solve it.
We have been given an ETA of one hour.

UPDATE : 00h26m CET : It seems that the route are all unproperly configured from the network to the router going through unsusual loop.
We have now identified the issue and it shall be sorted out promptly.

UPDATE : 12h37m CET : We attempted a few times to change the routing of the IPs through a different virtual network, since we do have redundancy at this level but the routes didn't propagate properly.
The VPS are still down as of now. We have reached the highest level of technicians at the datacenter level after a lot of investigations made.
We are still on our initial diagnostic which is a bad routing of the whole Canadian VPS network which attempts to send its packets (all VPS communications) to the French location and it happened out fo the sudden.
The datacenter mentionned it is nothing they have seen before and are actively working on it.
We will share information as they come until the resolution of the issue.
As a HostStage users while being out of our hands for the time being, you are still entitled to Service Level Agreement we are duly commited to which would give  a 5% refund of your monthly invoice per hour of downtime just by opening a support ticket.

Windows VPS France Network Upgrade (Resolved)
  • Priority - Critical
  • Affecting Other - Virtual Network
  • We are going to proceed with a massive network upgrade on the French location for Windows VPS which involves changing routers in order to bring even better performances.
The upgrade will take place the 15th of March at 10:15 AM CET.
We have an expected downtime of 15 minutes during this scheduled upgrade.

UPDATE 10h 15m AM CET : We have started the upgrade. VPS are down for the moment.

UPDATE 10h 24m AM CET : We have pushed the new IP blocks route to the new routers. It is being propagated and the VPS should start to be back up in the new few minutes.

UPDATE 10h 35m AM CET : All the new IP routes are propagated and all the VPS are back online. We are checking to see whether it is going well.

To give more in depth details on the update. We have upgraded our routers so they can support higher bandwidth speed. In the upcoming month we intend upgrade the real download / upload speed to 10 GBPS for all our VPS users (French and Canadian).
We have removed the possibility to use Canadian IP on French servers since, it isn't much a requested feature and because of the extra latency it brings we didn't make it public. The few concerned users are migrated to the Canadian location with their agreements.

Recurring VPS Restarts (Resolved)
  • Priority - Critical
  • Affecting Other - Windows Node 5 Canada
  • Hello,

We have been alerted of an intempestive restart yesterday morning which was caused by a SSD drive which had crashed.

This SSD drive has been replaced and we have updated the RAID policy so if the SSD caching device fails, there is a fallback to a non cached RAID array which would prevent the issue from happening again.

Such intempestive restart has generated another issue and we are leaning toward a RAM issue.

We are currently applying a few updates first to exclude the software issue. We will also schedule a full disk test first and a RAM test later in the day and we will post its date in here first.

We are working hard on the issue to bring it back online. Since, the scheduled RAM maintenance will involve an hour of dowtime, we will apply the SLA guarantee to impacted users, with a 5% credit per hour of downtime and another 5% for the 3 node restart as well.
In order to claim it, you would only need to open a support ticket.

We will update this network issue, as soon as we have more information but be insured we are working hard on solving this problem permanently.

    UPDATE : 13/02/2016 : 13 h 07 m CET

Check Primary disks Process is on going.

    UPDATE : 13/02/2016 : 13 h 16 m CET

Check Disks Completed with success -> Server Starting

    UPDATE : 13/02/2016 : 13 h 27 m CET

Server back online, we are monitoring and we will be scheduling a RAM test which requires an hour of downtime.
It will be scheduled at the best time for our users which we estimate to be on the 14/02/2016 at 7 h 00 m CET. **Scheduled Moved **
We estimate the downtime at 1 hour.

    UPDATE : 13/02/2016 : 14 h 11 m CET

The server has been restarted again. We are going to perform the RAM test right away and take down the server for the next hour.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.

    UPDATE : 13/02/2016 : 14 h 20 m CET

    RAM TEST has started.

    UPDATE : 13/02/2016 : 16 h 13 m CET

RAM TEST is still on going and it is 63% completed.

    UPDATE : 13/02/2016 : 19 h 19 m CET

RAM TEST is still on going and it is at 73%

    Current Accumulated downtime : 5 h 34 minutes.

    UPDATE : 13/02/2016 : 20 h 12 m CET

RAM TEST has been successfully passed. CPU test as well. SSDs are OK.
We are booting the server and the VPS will be back online within the next few minutes for the meantime.
We have contacted the datacenter for them to check the 2 PSUs of the server.
VPS should be back online for the time being.

    Current Accumulated downtime : 6 h 24 minutes.

    UPDATE : 14/02/2016 02 h 58 m CET

We have identified the issue which wasn't related to the first outage of the SSD cache.
It was coming from one of the network card which we have replacedd immediately.
All the VPS are currently back online and we are monitoring the node further to make sure it is stable.

    UPDATE : 14/02/2016 11 h 21 m CET

THe issue is still on going. We have worked all night and we keep working on it.
We are reaching out to the datacenter in order to have them analyze the motherboard and the RAID card.
They mentionned an electrical issue earlier this week which could be the root of the multiple problems we are facing.

    UPDATE : 14/02/2016 17 h 06 m CET

The server and therefore all the VPS are now back online, running, and stable for a few hours.
To give you the details of the outcome, we have discovered a severe malfunctions at both of the redundant cooling systems following an electric incident on the 2th of February.
The cooling system had a direct impact on the SSD caching drive which became overheated and therefore faulty.
The CPU test we did in the early hours of the investigation should have reflected the issue since, by nature it should have crashed by increasing the temperature, but it was passed successfully while making the issue worse.
The cooling systems have been both repaired and are now operating properly.

As per our SLA agreements, we will grant a full free month to our users claiming it through support ticket.

Otherwise, as a consequence we are considering adding the possibility to benefit from an emergency VPS at a fraction of the cost using the same IP as the primary VPS.
It will be raised in a meeting and possibly tested among a few users soon.

Linux VPS Node 6 down (Resolved)
  • Priority - Critical
  • Affecting Server - FREE SPACE
  • Following the events of today, we had to change your VPS IP in order to set your VPS back online the soonest possible.
We had to face an emergency transfer out of a datacenter we were using as far as they blocked the main node IP following an abuse of one VPS.
To display a full transparency on our end, the source of the issue was a VPS with a hacked password sending a DDoS attack.

Such severe action undertook by the datacenter  is dued to a new strict  policy they recently put in motion.
As far as it isn't convenient for us to manage, we have immediately started the full transfer of the VPS to our primary datacenter where we have a full control of the network (gateways and routers) with automatic filters in place to prevent and block the outgoing DDoS attacks from happening without affecting the others VPS.

Also, to go even further we are going to send emails regarding the VPS security and demand our users to change their passwords to more secured ones.

We have successfully retrieved your VPS data which has been transferred to a newer node with even greater specifications.
The CPU is now updated from 3.6 Ghz to 3.7 GHz (burstable to 3.9 Ghz) per core along with a better architecture.
The RAID system is now a fully up to date hardware managed array and SSD cached.
Also, you benefit now from a full DDoS protected VPS with over 100 GBPS as burstable bandwidth and instant mitigation.

Dealing with the resolution process, it is currently on going. The transfer of all the VPS is completed and we are currently setting the VPS online on a 1 by 1 basis.

You will receive an email including your new IP shortly.

    ETA : 1 hour.

  • Priority - Critical

We are facing another issue regarding the IP address routing.
The datacenter is apparently facing issue to address the IP to others servers on their gateway level.

Server Mirage - Transfer (Resolved)
  • Priority - Critical
  • Affecting Server - FREE SHARED SPACE
  • Hello dear customer,

We are since this morning moving all customers from server Mirage to a brand new server.

During the last month, we have noticing and experiencing huge down time.

Last night, we were about to loose serious range of datas caused by the over capacity we have used so far.

We had to suspend all accounts from this server to move them to a new server preventing a transfer failure, or even the corruption of your datas.

The  transfer is done at 50% and your datas are safe.

Within tomorrow, the transfer will be integraly solved, and your website back online.

We are sorry for the inconvenience, and we guarantee you it is for the best. From a physical limited server we are moving to a reliable and extendable cluster in a cloud hosting data center.
