How to activate TUN/TAP on your Linux VPS

Throughout this tutorial, we will show you how to activate the TUN / TAP feature on your linux VPS.

1) You would need to connect to your Linux VPS control panel that you received from your email.

Your usersame should be vmuser (with a number that you should have received in your welcome email) and the password you have defined upon sign up.

2) Once logged in, you should see the list of all your linux VPS and you would need to click on manage as shown in the picture below :

3) You are now on your VPS control area and at the bottom you should select Settings and then click on enable TUN / TAP as shown in the picture below :

4) To check if the TUN / TAP feature has been successfully activated, you can open a SSH session with putty using your root logins and type the following command :

cat /dev/net/tun

Which should return :

cat: /dev/net/tun: File descriptor in bad state

If it isn't properly activated you would have the following error :

 cat: /dev/net/tun: No such device

And you should try to activate it back again or open a support ticket for us to do it for you.
